Participation in Large-Scale Water Rescue Exercises Organised by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kyiv Region

Recently, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kyiv region took part in large-scale water rescue exercises organised by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kyiv region.

The training was held in the Vyshhorod district, which, according to the Emergency Service, records the highest number of drowning incidents each year. The exercises aimed to improve skills and prepare first responders for the autumn-winter period.

According to the scenario, a boat overturned during a leisure activity: one casualty was rescued immediately, while another had to be searched for underwater.

In addition to our volunteers, representatives from the ambulance service and police also participated, allowing volunteers to practise coordination and the sequence of actions together. Such training exercises help test readiness and improve coordination among emergency services during real incidents.
