An information session on combat stress was recently held for veterans and their families in the village of Lychkove, Dnipro region

The event was organised by mental health and psychosocial support specialists from the Dnipro regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, as part of the BHA Multisectoral Emergency Response Programme, supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

Participants learned about the nature of combat stress and its impact on mental health, gained practical tools for self-help and supporting loved ones, and had the opportunity to share their own experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

A special part of the session involved making beeswax candles – an activity that helped foster a calm atmosphere and served as a symbol of inner light and resilience, even in difficult times.
