Seminar in Cherkasy: Peer Exchange for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Teams

From 20–22 August, a seminar took place in Cherkasy, providing a space for sharing ideas, insights, and practical experience among the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) teams of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

The event brought together representatives from the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross, partners from the Danish Red Cross, and team members from the Donetsk, Chernihiv, Poltava, Chernivtsi, Dnipro, and Ivano-Frankivsk regional branches.

Over the course of three days, participants:

  • discussed tools for identifying and prioritising community needs;
  • worked on improving monitoring and reporting practices;
  • reviewed updated protocols for providing Psychological First Aid (PFA);
  • presented and analysed regional best practices;
  • explored key issues related to procurement, communications, and visibility of MHPSS activities.

Such gatherings not only strengthen team capacity but also foster a professional environment for dialogue and the development of innovative approaches in the field of MHPSS.
