Developing Agriculture Together: 120 People Gain Practical Skills to Run Their Own Farms in the Kharkiv Region
How can you grow more with fewer resources? How can you look after livestock while reducing risks? How can a personal farm be turned into a reliable source of income? These questions were explored — and answered — by participants in training sessions organised by the Ukrainian Red Cross, with support from the World Food Programme, held in the Barvinkove and Savyntsi communities of the Kharkiv region.
A total of 120 beneficiaries acquired practical knowledge in the following areas:
- Crop and vegetable growing — from greenhouse farming to crop protection and increasing yields.
- Livestock and poultry farming — effective care, feeding, veterinary practices, and disease prevention.
The goal of the training is simple yet vital: to strengthen food security, boost farm productivity, and create additional sources of income for households.
The focus is on practical skills, real-life case studies, modern technologies, cooperation, and an eco-friendly approach.
Together — towards strong communities and sustainable development!
