Nationwide Training of Ukrainian Red Cross Emergency Response Teams Kicks Off
Today, the annual nationwide training for Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team volunteers began in the Lviv region.
More than 120 participants from across Ukraine — including those from frontline areas — have come together to enhance their skills, share experiences, and strengthen their preparedness for emergency response.
Throughout the training, volunteers will not only gain theoretical knowledge but also apply their skills in practical scenarios designed to closely replicate real-life emergencies. Topics covered will include casualty transportation, first aid provision, and responses to fires and shelling. Representatives from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine will also take part in the training.
“This training gives every volunteer a real chance to feel more confident when it comes to saving lives. It’s not just about getting knowledge — it’s about building a team of like-minded people who are always ready to step up. It’s during the practical exercises that volunteers really develop the skills and confidence needed to handle real emergency situations,” says Olena Kutsa, Head of the Emergency Response Service at the Ukrainian Red Cross.
Such training is about the unity of those prepared to take action.
