Cohesion that saves lives: Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers took part in joint training in the Kyiv region
Volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kyiv region participated in a large-scale exercise alongside first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and employees of Ukrzaliznytsia.
The training took place on one of the railway lines in the Kyiv region. According to the scenario, a mock fire broke out in an electric train carriage. Together with emergency workers, the volunteers evacuated the ‘passengers’ from the danger zone and provided first aid.
At another location, participants rescued a simulated electrocution victim from the roof of a carriage — a situation increasingly common among teenagers.
These exercises are not merely about practising procedures; they represent real preparation for saving lives in emergency situations.
