Two Ukrainian Red Cross Volunteers Honoured with Florence Nightingale Medals
Yesterday, Iryna Shyrochenko and Valentyna Prysiazhniuk, emergency response team volunteers of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross, were awarded the Florence Nightingale Medals — the highest international distinction for healthcare workers and volunteers who demonstrate exceptional courage, humanity, and selflessness in times of armed conflict and disaster.
Iryna and Valentyna have shown extraordinary bravery and commitment in their work, particularly in assisting victims in the immediate aftermath of attacks and evacuating civilians during the full-scale war in Ukraine.
These awards recognise not only the personal contributions of Iryna and Valentyna to saving lives but also the resilience and strength of the entire Ukrainian Red Cross volunteer community.
Thank you for your courage, professionalism, and unwavering dedication. Your actions go beyond assistance — they are acts of true humanity.
