The Ukrainian Red Cross at the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025)

Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross, and Illya Kletskovskyy, Deputy Director General, took part in the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025) in Rome.

URC2025 is a high-level international forum focused on the long-term recovery of Ukraine. The event brings together representatives from governments, international organisations, financial institutions, businesses, local authorities and civil society to coordinate efforts in support of Ukraine’s future.

“Ukraine’s recovery must involve not only infrastructure projects, but also a strong humanitarian element. The Ukrainian Red Cross maintains a continuous presence in communities across the country and has a clear understanding of people’s real needs. We are ready to share this experience to ensure the humanitarian dimension becomes an integral part of every recovery strategy. We are grateful to our international partners for their willingness to cooperate and for their ongoing support,” said Director General Maksym Dotsenko.

The conference focuses on:

  • the role of civil society in recovery processes
  • ensuring security and support for the population in both wartime and post-war contexts
  • strengthening human capital and social cohesion
  • embedding the principles of humanity and sustainability into all stages of reconstruction

The Ukrainian Red Cross joins the dialogue as one of the key humanitarian organisations working on the ground every day to support people and communities affected by the war.

Our participation in URC2025 marks another step towards closer cooperation with international partners and reinforces the importance of the humanitarian dimension in Ukraine’s recovery strategies.
