37 explosive devices in one day in the Sumy region

The districts of Sumy, Okhtyrka, Shostka, and Konotop are once again facing serious danger. These are not just statistics — each device represents a potential tragedy.

At such moments, mine risk specialists from the Ukrainian Red Cross respond immediately after shelling to carry out urgent awareness sessions.

Following attacks on civilian infrastructure, unexploded ordnance, debris, or even camouflaged explosive devices often remain.

While first responders are still conducting reconnaissance and risk assessments, local residents may return to affected areas unaware of the threat, putting themselves in mortal danger.

“We are not theorists. We work where a missile landed yesterday, and every safety rule followed is a life saved,” say mine risk specialists from the Ukrainian Red Cross.
