The Ukrainian Red Cross Took Part in the International Exercise for Local and Volunteer Fire Brigades
Representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross took part in the first International Exercise for Local and Volunteer Fire Brigades in Ukraine, which brought together over 100 participants. Among them were members of the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response teams, volunteers from fire brigades across nine regions of Ukraine supported by the Red Cross, as well as experts from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany.
Over the course of two days, exercises were conducted at six locations to simulate a range of emergency scenarios. These simulations aimed to strengthen participants’ emergency response skills, including firefighting in hard-to-reach areas, evacuating casualties in low-visibility conditions and administering first aid, carrying out rescue operations on water, as well as responding to road traffic accidents and providing necessary assistance to those affected.
Joint exercises make it possible to share experience, improve response procedures, and increase preparedness for emergency situations. Such activities are essential for protecting the public and responding effectively to today’s challenges.
The Ukrainian Red Cross will continue to strengthen its cooperation with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine as part of the Unified State System of Civil Protection, to ensure timely assistance to those in need.
