The Risk Management Department of the Ukrainian Red Cross, led by Mariia Polomoshnova, was awarded the prestigious international Compliance Programme of the Year by Compliance Week 2025 for building a full-fledged compliance programme entirely from scratch — and doing so in the midst of a full-scale war.

In 2024, despite ongoing attacks and the immense challenges of humanitarian work, the small team of Mariia Polomoshnova, Oleksandr Matvieiev, Elina Amirkhanyan, and Andrii Shkolnikov developed all the necessary policies, procedures, and systems — including the launch of the Integrity Line — to establish ethical and transparent standards of operation.

This recognition is more than just an honour — it’s proof that humanity and professionalism can prevail, even in the most difficult times.
