The Ukrainian Red Cross supports victims in Sumy
The emergency response team of the Ukrainian Red Cross, together with other rescue services, is responding to a Russian missile strike on the city.
Volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Sumy region are distributing construction materials — such as waterproof tarpaulins, plastic window sheeting, and OSB boards — to temporarily repair damage to homes. Specialists from the Sumy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross are also providing psychological first aid to those affected. As of 17:00, more than 150 people — including 14 teenagers — have sought assistance.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as of 18:00, a Russian missile strike on Sumy has resulted in the deaths of 34 people, including two children. Another 117 people have been injured, including 15 children.
