90 Years of Wisdom and Unbreakable Spirit: Volunteers in Volyn Celebrate Beneficiary’s Milestone Anniversary

Halyna Hrynchuk marked her 90th birthday by inviting the head of the Novovolynsk city branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross to her home. The organisation has consistently supported her with humanitarian aid and assistance in her daily life. Halyna impressed everyone not only with her clear mind and vitality but also with the warmth she extended to everyone who entered her home.

Halyna is originally from Odesa, but fate brought her to Novovolynsk after her husband found a job at a local mine. She spent most of her life here, dedicating 42 years and 10 days to working in social insurance. Her contributions were recognised with her photo on the honour boards in both Novovolynsk and Lutsk. Despite the hardships she faced, including the loss of her two sons and the absence of close relatives, Halyna maintained her optimism.

Halyna prepared all the dishes for her 90th birthday celebration, showcasing her culinary talent. During the festivities, she delighted guests by reciting her favourite poems, which she still knows by heart.

One of the closest people in Halyna’s life is her friend, with whom she has shared a bond for over 60 years. Their friendship is a true example of mutual support and understanding that has stood the test of time.

This birthday celebration was not just a memorable event but a symbol of Halyna’s unbreakable spirit and willpower. Even at 90, she remains active, cheerful, and an inspiring figure to those around her.
