Practising water rescue protocols: a training session with Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers and first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine took place in the Kyiv region
While it’s impossible to fully prepare for every type of emergency, learning and practising these action protocols help participants psychologically and physically prepare for potentially dangerous situations. In critical moments, the effectiveness of the response depends on the coordination, promptness, and clarity of task distribution, which ultimately impacts how quickly victims receive assistance.
Recently, the Kyiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, in collaboration with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, conducted a water rescue training session. During this training, rescue divers employed various techniques to rescue individuals from the water. At the same time, Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers practised administering first aid for drowning cases and managing the simulated transportation of victims.
The joint training of the Kyiv regional emergency response team of the Ukrainian Red Cross with first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kyiv region is designed to enhance cooperation and facilitate the exchange of experience and skills between the two groups.
