Teaching First Aid to Emergency Workers in Kherson

“We were clearing the rubble and searching for people. We performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation,” share the emergency workers during a first aid training session conducted by instructors from the Kherson regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

The participants understand better than anyone that providing quality, prompt, and accurate first aid in an emergency can save many lives. Whether you are a hairdresser, entrepreneur, unemployed, or emergency worker, if you are at the scene, the fate of the victims may depend on your actions and skills.

The emergency workers attended the training after a full day’s duty. They were visibly tired. They mentioned they might need to leave the training if called, as their colleagues rely on them in large-scale emergencies. First aid instructors from the Ukrainian Red Cross guided how to handle life-threatening situations and demonstrated essential first-aid skills in practice.
