In the Kharkiv region, 53 social assistants of the Ukrainian Red Cross provide care for 300 people across 17 communities

The beneficiaries are lonely elderly people who require assistance. Due to their health conditions and social isolation, they often struggle to maintain their households independently, experience loneliness, and have limited access to medical and social services. 

Social assistants help with household chores, purchase and deliver food, water, and medicines, provide emotional support, and help address their clients’ medical and social needs.
