Since January this year, mobile health units of the Ukrainian Red Cross have been operating in the Zhytomyr region
Over the past three months, 1,313 people have been examined in 33 villages and towns. Additionally, 694 individuals have received medicines free of charge. The Italian Red Cross provided a car for the team’s convenience.
The team consists of a doctor, a nurse, and a driver. According to the schedule, visits are made to the villages in the Ruzhyn and Vchoraishe communities. The doctor holds appointments at village council offices, local clubs, and other locations using the mobile health unit’s vehicle. Specialists also visit the homes of seriously ill individuals.
Consultations and examinations are provided, along with measurements of blood pressure, blood sugar, and blood oxygen levels. Treatment is prescribed, and referrals to other specialists are made. Additionally, individuals can receive free medicines. There is also a mobile clothing bank where people can pick up free clothes and shoes.
