Video: Supporting Kherson Residents with Food Parcels
Kherson is one of the cities most affected by the hostilities. Despite this, many elderly people and people with disabilities remain here. Every month, in cooperation with the World Food Programme, we distribute food parcels to people over 60 and those classified under disability groups 1, 2, and 3.
“Such a food parcel contains 60% of the monthly calorie needs,” says Svitlana Shcherbyna, WFP project coordinator at the Kherson regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
“This is a very significant support for a month,” shares Nina, a local resident, “and it is very important that this help is delivered right to your house – you come out and get it – and you don’t have to go anywhere and take any risks.”
