In Novodnistrovsk, Chernivtsi Region, a Psychosocial Support Space is Operating on a Regular Basis

Since February 24, 2022, the demand for psychosocial support in Ukraine has increased significantly, as people have faced crisis events for which it is impossible to be prepared. Many individuals have lost their relatives, homes, been separated from their families, forced to flee their homes, been under shelling or in temporary occupation. All of these experiences have significantly impacted the affected individuals, causing distress that may lead to future mental or physical health issues. That is why the Ukrainian Red Cross mental health and psychosocial support teams are dedicated to helping people maintain their mental health and develop coping strategies for stress.

For example, in the psychosocial support space in Novodnistrovsk, volunteers of the Dnister district branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross organise psychosocial support activities for children. During classes with elements of creativity and active games, young visitors learn to recognise their own emotions, identify their strengths, and discover ways to overcome stress.
