Assisting First Responders During a Fire Emergency in a High-Rise Building

Yesterday, volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kyiv region, alongside first responders of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, evacuated people from a smoke-filled multi-storey building.

The emergency occurred last night in Vyshhorod, where a fire broke out on the 18th floor of a residential building, causing heavy smoke to spread throughout the staircase from the 10th to the 22nd floors. A total of 84 people, including 20 children, were successfully evacuated from the building.

The response involved five volunteers and two specialised firefighting vehicles.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
