The participants, most of whom were evacuated from Velyka Pysarivka, work with a workbook called ‘The Book About Me.’ In this workbook, they can express their own memories and feelings. During the classes, which include creative activities and active games, the children learn to recognise emotions, identify their strengths, and find ways to overcome stress.

During one of the events, volunteer Yana said to a girl who was feeling sad due to some unpleasant memories, “If you want to talk to me, I’m here for you.”

Volunteers from the Sumy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross organize events in Sumy, Okhtyrka, Romny, Shostka, and Konotop. So far, more than 300 children have written and continue to write their unique ‘books’ about joy, sadness, and hope.
