Care and Support: The Story of Pavlyna and Vasyl
Pavlyna and Vasyl have lived together in the village of Ust-Putyla for 70 years. Having worked hard since childhood, they now find it challenging to maintain their household due to their advanced age. Liubov, a social assistant with the Ukrainian Red Cross, provides dedicated care and support to her clients.
She assists with various household tasks, including cleaning, cooking, and purchasing and delivering food and medicines. Additionally, Liubov offers emotional support by actively listening to her clients, engaging in conversations on various topics, providing psychological assistance, and helping to address their social needs.
In Bukovyna, over 30 social assistants with the Ukrainian Red Cross provide care for nearly 200 lonely elderly individuals across 32 settlements in the region.
