Over 60 Ukrainian Red Cross Social Assistants in the Kherson Region Care for Nearly 300 Lonely Elderly People Daily

Under the EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid project, social assistants continue to collaborate with psychologists from the Ukrainian Red Cross in the field of mental health and psychosocial support. In addition to offering household assistance and addressing social needs, providing psychosocial support to their clients is an essential aspect of the social assistants’ work.

Lonely elderly people can experience social isolation and require communication, attention, and care. That is why our team provides emotional support, listens, and stands by them during difficult times.

Continuous improvement of skills enables Ukrainian Red Cross social assistants to offer more effective and timely support to those who need it the most.
