The Ukrainian Red Cross, as an active member of the Alliance of Ukrainian Civil Society Organisations, facilitated the organisation and opening of the conference “Responding at the local level – the unique Ukrainian experience”, which took place in Brussels on 20 March

The conference was a logical closing chord to the European Humanitarian Forum and brought together about 60 participants from different countries, including both Ukrainian and international NGOs, EU Commissions, various missions, think tanks, experts and diplomats.

During the event, a vision strategy for strengthening the role of local humanitarian actors in Ukraine and an honest open dialogue with donors and partners on these processes were presented.

As a result, the participants of the event agreed to promote partnerships between key stakeholders in the humanitarian sector for effective cooperation and coordination of the humanitarian response in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Red Cross, as a member of the Alliance of Ukrainian Civil Society Organisations, has played a key role in uniting the efforts and capacities of civil society organisations in the country to jointly respond to the consequences of the war and overcome the humanitarian crisis as effectively as possible. The Alliance of Ukrainian Civil Society Organisations is a network of exclusively Ukrainian-registered civil society organisations, currently comprising 16 founding members.
