The participants of the exercises worked out the algorithm of joint actions aimed at preserving the life and health of the population in the conditions of a possible radiation threat.

During the event, volunteers, rescuers, representatives of the police, management and civil protection authorities, doctors and employees of the regional laboratory center worked out their interaction in organizing and carrying out transport evacuation of the population, rescue and other emergency works.

According to the simulation scenario, the evacuation of the population from the zone of possible radiation contamination was carried out by rail transport – a train with people arrived at an intermediate evacuation point, where deactivation of the arriving rail transport was carried out with a control measurement of the level of radiation danger and the organization of the operation of safety points to help people.

At the security points, citizens underwent sanitary treatment, changed into clean clothes, were measured for the level of radiation pollution and, if necessary, provided first aid or medical aid.

Volunteers of the Emergency response teamof the Zaporizhzhia Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society directly participated in decontamination, primary sorting, providing first aid to victims, registering and collecting data of evacuees, issuing food kits and escorting evacuees to transport.
