Tracing Service News

In accordance with the Statutes of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, the 1949 Geneva Conventions, and their 1977 Additional Protocols, which Ukraine ratified in 1954 and 1989, respectively, the Tracing Service was established within the Ukrainian Red Cross Society in June 1992. The Tracing Service operates in accordance with international rules, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Tracing Service, and the national Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies of other countries. Tracing services are provided free of charge and respect the individual’s right to privacy (the principle of confidentiality).

The goal of the Tracing Service’s Family Reunification (FR) team is to respond to inquiries submitted to the Ukrainian Red Cross regarding tracing and family reunification, maintain contact with applicants, and support families who have opened tracing cases for missing or captured relatives.

These activities are carried out throughout Ukraine.

For inquiries regarding the search for missing relatives, please contact:

  • the nearest Ukrainian Red Cross office (for convenience, please maintain contact with the regional branch of the Organization in your area of residence);
