The Ukrainian Red Cross team responded to the aftermath of strikes on Kharkiv
Yesterday, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team worked alongside other emergency services in Kharkiv to respond to the aftermath of Russian strikes involving guided aerial bombs.
Volunteers checked damaged buildings and surrounding areas to identify affected people, provided first aid, and handed injured people over to emergency medical teams. They also helped people evacuate from damaged buildings and took part in search-and-rescue operations. In addition, volunteers provided psychological first aid to people experiencing acute stress reactions.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, six people were killed and 59 were injured, including three children, as a result of the Russian attack involving guided aerial bombs. Multi-storey residential buildings, civilian facilities and vehicles were damaged.
