Support When It Is Needed Most: Cash Assistance

Losing a home, having a home damaged or being forced to evacuate can change a person’s life in an instant. After an emergency, people often have to recover from what they have experienced while also covering the cost of essentials such as medicines, food, utility bills and emergency home repairs.

That is why the Ukrainian Red Cross provides cash assistance to people affected by the war, those who have been forced to evacuate from dangerous areas, and people from the most vulnerable groups. This type of support enables people to decide for themselves what their most urgent needs are and use the assistance for what matters most at that particular moment.

With U.S. support, the Ukrainian Red Cross has already assisted more than 4,000 people affected by the war and facing difficult circumstances. For many, this assistance has helped them take the first steps towards recovery, regain a sense of stability, and know that they are not facing these challenges alone.
