A series of information and awareness-raising sessions on preventing food poisoning and intestinal infections held in Ternopil region

Over the course of a week, the Ukrainian Red Cross Health Promotion and Disease Prevention team in the Ternopil region conducted a series of information and awareness-raising sessions focused on preventing food poisoning and intestinal infections.

The sessions were held in 15 communities across the Ternopil region. Around 150 people took part in 19 sessions.

During the sessions, participants learned about the main causes of these illnesses, personal hygiene practices, safe food preparation and storage, as well as the warning signs that require seeking medical assistance.

Special attention was given to practical recommendations that can help reduce the risk of infection and protect health in everyday life.

To support better understanding and retention of the information, specialists used interactive learning methods, practical examples and discussions of real-life situations, helping participants reinforce their knowledge.

Food poisoning and intestinal infections remain a common health risk, especially during the summer period. Raising public awareness about simple preventive measures is therefore an important step towards protecting health, preventing illness and promoting healthy daily habits.
