In memory of Olena Arkhipova

In memory of Olena Arkhipova

During an overnight attack on Odesa, Ukrainian Red Cross volunteer and first aid instructor Olena Arkhipova was killed.

At the time of the strike, Olena was rushing to a shelter with her children. The children survived and are receiving the support they need.

Olena was a single mother of three children. She joined the Ukrainian Red Cross team in 2023 as a first aid instructor. In 2026, she also became a pet first aid instructor. On the very day of the attack, she was due to begin training to become a first aid instructor specialising in training people with physical disabilities.

She lived in Odesa and dedicated herself to helping others. Olena conducted first aid training for staff of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, adults and children, and everyone who wanted to learn vital life-saving skills. She actively contributed to the volunteer activities of the Odesa regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, supporting not only first aid initiatives but also other humanitarian efforts.

For her colleagues and friends, Olena will always be remembered as a kind, sincere and responsible person who was always ready to help. She taught others how to save lives and, through her own example, showed that humanity, compassion and care can make the world a better place.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, friends and the entire volunteer community. We share your grief and mourn her loss with you.

May Olena’s memory be honoured.
