The Ukrainian Red Cross trains new Psychological First Aid (PFA) trainers
A five-day Training of Trainers (ToT) course on Psychological First Aid (PFA) was held in Lviv, bringing together 20 Ukrainian Red Cross staff members and volunteers from different regions of Ukraine.
Over the course of five days, participants deepened their knowledge of Psychological First Aid and strengthened the skills needed to deliver training effectively. They developed facilitation techniques, practised delivering training modules, worked with feedback, discussed potential challenges when working with different audiences, and gained a deeper understanding of the training methodology.
Particular attention was given to the role of a Psychological First Aid trainer, the competencies required to deliver high-quality training, and the importance of ongoing supervision and support after completing the programme.
Participants will now be able to apply their knowledge and skills by delivering Psychological First Aid training in their own regions, helping expand access to essential skills to support people in crisis.
We continue to strengthen the Ukrainian Red Cross’s network of trainers and expand access to Psychological First Aid knowledge and skills across Ukraine.
The training was conducted with U.S. support.
