Kharkiv: Assistance for People Affected by Another Attack on the City
The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kharkiv region supported response efforts following the attack. Volunteers assessed damaged areas and buildings, provided first aid and psychological first aid to those affected and, together with the team’s canine unit, took part in search and rescue operations.
A Ukrainian Red Cross assistance point is currently operating at the site, where people can access water, hot drinks, snacks and psychological support.
Humanitarian assistance is also being distributed to those affected, including hygiene kits, drinking water, children’s bedding sets, blankets, tarpaulins and OSB boards for temporary repairs to damaged homes.
According to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Russian forces struck the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs at 03:45 on 19 June. According to preliminary reports, nine people were injured, including four children. The body of one person was recovered from the rubble. More than 40 private homes and a warehouse facility were damaged as a result of the attack.
