Community Center in Zaporizhzhia hosts humanitarian coordination meeting

Representatives of humanitarian organisations met at the Community Center in Zaporizhzhia for a coordination meeting organised by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

The discussion focused on key humanitarian challenges in communities across the Zaporizhzhia region, in particular changes in people’s needs, access to assistance, and remaining gaps in support.

Participants also discussed coordination between organisations, including how to better align activities to ensure assistance is more timely and avoids duplication of efforts, how to strengthen information sharing among partners, and how to make referral pathways to services clearer and more effective.

In addition, they discussed practical approaches to joint response planning and strengthening collaboration at community level to ensure humanitarian initiatives are better coordinated and respond more effectively to people’s needs.

Ukrainian Red Cross Community Centers support partnerships between organisations and communities and continue to provide a space for coordination and cooperation towards a shared goal — more effective support for beneficiaries and higher-quality social service delivery.
