The Ukrainian Red Cross launches a series of Psychological First Aid training for Police Officers in Kyiv region
A Psychological First Aid (PFA) training session was held in Kyiv for officers from the education security service and human resources departments of the National Police of Ukraine. The event marked the beginning of cooperation between the Kyiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross and the National Police in the field of psychosocial support.
During the training, participants were introduced to the principles of Psychological First Aid, practised skills for responding to crisis situations, and learned how to support people experiencing stressful events. Special attention was given to developing personal resilience and self-help techniques that help maintain psychological well-being under conditions of increased workload.
Psychological First Aid is an essential component of support both in emergency situations and in everyday life. It helps to respond in a timely manner to emotional distress, reduce stress levels, and foster trust and mutual support within teams and communities.
As part of this cooperation, a series of Psychological First Aid trainings for officers of the National Police in the Kyiv region is planned for 2026–2027.
