Response operations following the strike on a residential building in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district are ongoing

Volunteers from the emergency response team of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross are working at the site alongside emergency services. They assisted in rescuing one injured person from under the rubble and transferred them to emergency medical teams for further hospitalisation. Volunteers also took part in the recovery of the bodies of those killed. In addition, they provided first aid and psychological first aid to those affected.

A Ukrainian Red Cross assistance point continues to operate at the site, with a team from the Kyiv city branch currently present. Volunteers are providing hot drinks and light refreshments to affected people, their relatives, and emergency responders. The tent also offers psychological support, first aid if required, and mobile phone charging facilities.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as of now, the death toll from the Russian attack on Kyiv has risen to eight, including a 12-year-old child. At least 20 people are reported missing. In total, 45 people have been injured, including two children.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing.

We thank our partners within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the U.S. Government, the European Union, and donors around the world for their continued support.
