Kyiv hosts concluding workshop on developing social entrepreneurship across Ukrainian Red Cross branches

From 9 to 12 December, the four-day REDpreneur 2025 workshop took place in Kyiv, bringing together 14 teams from local and regional branches of the Ukrainian Red Cross. This is the second cohort of the programme, aimed at fostering social entrepreneurship at the branch level.

Over seven months of training and intensive practical work, the teams developed their business models with the support of five coaches and fourteen mentors, each with expertise in entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, and legal support. The programme concluded with a pitching session, during which each team presented its social enterprise idea, business logic, and potential for sustainable growth.

The projects included sewing workshops, massage rooms, hair salons, cafés, salt therapy rooms, and educational services for children — all designed to address the real needs of local communities.

One of the workshop days was held at RED HUB — the Ukrainian Red Cross’s innovation space for promoting social entrepreneurship. Participants took part in an expert discussion, received individual consultations, and showcased their projects in an atmosphere of open exchange and partnership.

Fostering social entrepreneurship within Ukrainian Red Cross branches is a core component of the REDpreneur programme, which aims to strengthen the financial resilience of the branches, expand their capacities, and ensure the delivery of high-quality social services to those who need them most.

The programme is implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross in partnership with the French Red Cross and the Austrian Red Cross.
