Ukrainian Red Cross Responds to Strikes in Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia

  • Zhytomyr

The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Zhytomyr region is working on-site alongside the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) following the recent attack. Volunteers have provided first aid to ten people with injuries of varying severity. Psychological first aid is also being offered to those affected and their relatives. An aid station has been set up where local residents and emergency workers can receive support, including water, coffee, and access to mobile phone charging.

Volunteers are also distributing plastic sheeting and tarpaulins to residents whose homes were damaged in the attack.

According to the State Emergency Service, the Russian strike in the Zhytomyr district damaged residential buildings in the private sector. One local resident sustained burns of varying degrees and later died in the hospital. Fires are still being extinguished, and SESU bomb disposal teams continue to operate on-site.

Emergency rescue operations are ongoing.

  • Vinnytsia

The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Vinnytsia region provided assistance at the site of the recent attack. Volunteers are supporting victims and first responders by offering hot drinks, snacks, and water, and remain on duty to provide immediate first aid and psychological support.

Tarpaulins will also be distributed to residents whose homes have been damaged.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, one person was injured during the Russian strike on Vinnytsia. Civilian and industrial infrastructure suffered damage, with windows shattered and roofs affected in over 20 residential buildings.
