In the Kherson region mine risk specialists from the Ukrainian Red Cross held an information session for representatives of the Southern Development Strategy (SDS) NGO
The Ukrainian Red Cross continues to raise awareness across the country about how to behave safely when encountering mines and explosive devices. Special focus is placed on informing residents of frontline communities and areas recently liberated from temporary occupation.
In the Kherson region — which suffers from frequent shelling — mine risk specialists from the Ukrainian Red Cross held an information session for representatives of the Southern Development Strategy (SDS) NGO in the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka. The SDS team was informed about the impact of explosive hazards on people’s lives, as well as on the social, economic, and environmental aspects of affected communities.
Mine risk education helps people understand where explosive hazards may be found, how to identify them, and how to act safely to prevent accidents.
