The Ukrainian Red Cross has provided information on mine safety rules to over 300,000 people
“Thanks to the efforts of a team of instructors, more than 300,000 people, including 190,940 children, have attended information sessions on the risks posed by explosive hazards and the rules for safer behaviour since the start of the full-scale invasion,” said Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
The programmes focus on educating participants about the different types of mines and explosive devices, as well as the basic rules of conduct in the event of their discovery.
The risk of mines in Ukraine remains very high. For this reason, raising awareness of the dangers posed by explosive hazards is one of the key activities of the Ukrainian Red Cross. Instructors continue to teach people how to behave more safely when encountering dangerous items, as one of the main causes of accidents is the lack of clear procedures.
The Ukrainian Red Cross actively conducts training on the risks of explosive ordnance, collaborating with communities, educational institutions, and government agencies to disseminate life-saving knowledge.
