V National Organisational Development Forum for regional and local Ukrainian Red Cross branches
Maksym Dotsenko: “Today, the Ukrainian Red Cross is implementing over 80 humanitarian projects and programmes for the population.”
This was emphasised by the Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross during the V National Organisational Development Forum, which brought together representatives from regional and local Ukrainian Red Cross branches across the country. The forum was organised to facilitate the exchange of experiences and the implementation of programmes and activities and to discuss challenges, successes, strategic plans, and future prospects for the Ukrainian Red Cross.
“The full-scale invasion has become a challenge for the whole of Ukraine and a turning point for our organisation, forcing us to expand our capabilities and adapt to new realities. We have not only withstood the onslaught of war but also grown stronger, more united, and more determined in our commitment to help. Today, the Ukrainian Red Cross is a powerful force, capable of changing the world for the better, providing help and support to those in need, and building a solid foundation for the future of Ukraine,” emphasised Maksym Dotsenko.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian Red Cross has developed key areas of activity, including the restoration of critical and social infrastructure, physical and mental rehabilitation, mine risk education, psychosocial support, emergency response, and mobile health units. Nearly 200 branches across the country provide support to internally displaced persons (IDPs), people with disabilities, large families, and children without parental care.
Over the course of three days, participants at the event are sharing their strategic plans for 2025-2030, the key trends in the development of local branches, and their experiences in responding to crises.
