Training sessions on psychological first aid and psychosocial support for the population were conducted in Kyiv
The Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross, in collaboration with the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Unit, organised a two-day training programme on psychological first aid and psychosocial support for counsellors from the Vinnytsia and Kirovohrad regions.
The main goal of the event was to raise participants’ awareness of psychological reactions to crisis situations. In particular, the counsellors gained practical skills in recognising stress reactions and mastered strategies to assist individuals with psychosocial adaptation.
We hope these tools will enable our counsellors to work even more effectively with various groups, including internally displaced persons, the elderly, and people with disabilities. This training was made possible thanks to the financial support of the Danish Red Cross.
