Providing primary healthcare: mobile health units visit people with limited mobility at their homes in the Ternopil region
Specialists from the Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units regularly visit individuals who are unable to leave their homes due to health conditions. During these visits, doctors assess their health status, conduct blood tests (including saturation and glucose levels), prescribe medication when necessary, and refer patients to specialised doctors.
In the Ternopil region, the Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units, supported by the Norwegian Red Cross, cover 21 communities, including remote areas. The units’ specialists provide a wide range of medical services to the local population and internally displaced persons.
Each unit is staffed by a family doctor, two nurses, and a driver. Depending on the needs of the population, gynaecologists and psychologists are also involved in the visits.
The mobile health units ensure timely primary healthcare for those with limited access to medical services.
We stand by those in need.
