In September, the Ukrainian Red Cross conducted 156 psychosocial support activities for 1544 adults and children in the Chernivtsi region
Many people have lost relatives and homes, been separated from their families, or been forced to leave their residences due to the war. Others have endured shelling or lived under temporary occupation. All of these experiences have a significant impact on mental health, causing considerable distress. Psychosocial support encompasses a range of actions designed to address the psychological and social needs of individuals, families, and communities. It also includes initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of those in difficult life situations and restoring their psychosocial well-being.
Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers provide psychosocial support through various initiatives, including support groups, creative activities, family events, children’s classes, active games, psychoeducational sessions, and social cohesion events. These activities aim to enhance resilience, reduce stress levels, alleviate emotional strain, and teach individuals how to care for themselves and their families.
