The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kherson region has undergone a regular training course
Preparedness for unusual situations and locations inaccessible by vehicle is essential: the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kherson region has completed its latest training course.
The activities of the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team volunteers demand strong skills and ongoing training. This not only enhances the team’s coherence and efficiency in providing assistance but also allows them to practise and refine their abilities in using equipment. To achieve this, volunteers regularly participate in training sessions and relevant exercises, with significant attention given to analysing scenarios involving victims with various injuries and life-threatening conditions.
This time, the volunteers practised evacuating and transporting individuals with limited mobility. Many multi-storey buildings in the city lack functioning lifts, making it challenging to safely and swiftly move an injured person up or down to another floor. However, the volunteers successfully accomplished this and developed coordinated action procedures.
The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Kherson region comprises volunteers who are ready to assist residents in any circumstance. They provide first aid to victims at shelling sites, evacuate individuals from dangerous areas, transport those who cannot manage on their own to their homes or hospitals, and engage in various forms of humanitarian aid.
