Homeowners’ associations in Kryvyi Rih can receive grants of up to UAH 300,000 for backup power equipment

The Ukrainian Red Cross, with support from the Norwegian Red Cross, is launching a grant programme for homeowners’ associations in Kryvyi Rih. The grants will help them purchase backup power equipment to keep essential building systems running during prolonged power cuts.

Applications are open from 26 October to 15 November 2026, inclusive.

Who can apply?

The programme is open to homeowners’ associations that are registered as legal entities and manage apartment buildings in one of the following three districts of Kryvyi Rih:
– Pokrovskyi;
– Metalurhiinyi;
– Saksahanskyi.

A homeowners’ association may submit several applications if it manages more than one apartment building. A separate application, along with the required supporting documents, must be submitted for each building.

Funding is awarded through a competitive selection process. Applications will be assessed against the eligibility criteria, and successful applicants will receive funding. Submitting an application does not guarantee funding.

How much funding is available?

The grant amount depends on the number of floors in the apartment building:

  • UAH 100,000 — for buildings with up to six floors;
  • UAH 200,000 — for buildings with 7–16 floors;
  • UAH 300,000 — for buildings with 17 or more floors, or for buildings with 4–16 floors inclusive and three or more entrances, provided this is confirmed by supporting documentation.

What can the grant cover?

The grant can be used to purchase backup power equipment needed to keep essential building systems running during power cuts.

Eligible equipment includes:

  • petrol, diesel or gas generators;
  • inverters;
  • batteries;
  • solar panels;
  • high-voltage battery control units.

Please note: The grant does not cover equipment installation, associated materials or other additional costs required to implement the project. If necessary, homeowners’ associations and/or residents may cover these costs through co-financing.

What documents are required?

To apply, homeowners’ associations must complete the application form and provide documents confirming their legal status, their authority to purchase the equipment and details of the building.
