Social Entrepreneurship School for Veterans and Their Families from Vinnytsia and Mykolaiv Regions
Applications are open until 20 September for the Social Entrepreneurship School for veterans and their families from the Vinnytsia and Mykolaiv regions. Participants will gain practical knowledge, receive mentoring support, and have the opportunity to apply for up to €12,500 in grant funding to launch or develop their own social enterprise.
The Social Entrepreneurship School is implemented as part of the Supporting the Reintegration of Veterans in Ukraine programme and helps participants turn their business ideas into viable social enterprise projects with a positive impact on their communities.
This is an opportunity not only to learn how to start and develop a business, but also to move from an initial idea to a complete business model, prepare to attract funding, and receive support to establish or develop a social enterprise.
What will participants gain?
The programme will run for 2–3 months and combine learning, practical work, and individual support. Participants will:
- learn how to establish and develop a social enterprise;
- develop their own sustainable business model;
- gain practical knowledge in financial management, communications, and customer acquisition;
- take part in practical workshops and meetings with experts;
- receive mentoring support while preparing their business plan and financial model;
- receive follow-up support after receiving a grant during project implementation.
Particular attention will be paid to initiatives that create positive change in communities, promote social cohesion, and help address pressing social challenges.
Who can apply?
- veterans who have completed their military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- family members of veterans;
- family members of service personnel who are missing or have been or are currently held in captivity — parents, spouses, and children.
An essential eligibility requirement is residence in the Vinnytsia or Mykolaiv region and a desire to launch a business with a social or community impact, or to develop an existing initiative.
The Supporting the Reintegration of Veterans in Ukraine programme is implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross with support from the Danish Red Cross. The training component is delivered by the MIM-Kyiv Business School.
