On the evening of 23 August, a Russian drone attack caused a fire at a Ukrainian Red Cross warehouse in Kherson

As a result of the fire, humanitarian supplies stored at the warehouse, worth almost UAH 28 million, were damaged or destroyed.

These included equipment and materials for preparing for the autumn and winter period, as well as supplies for an emergency response to the aftermath of attacks, including materials for temporarily covering damaged buildings. The warehouse also contained medical supplies, blankets, hygiene kits, water and power supply equipment, and other humanitarian assistance.

No Ukrainian Red Cross staff or volunteers were injured.

Despite the loss of humanitarian supplies, the Ukrainian Red Cross continues its work in Kherson and the surrounding region.

Teams continue to respond to the consequences of attacks and provide people with the assistance they need.
