Children in Chernihiv region learned how to stay safe if they get lost and keep in touch with their families
A specialist from the Ukrainian Red Cross Tracing and Restoring Family Links Service took part in an information and awareness-raising session at a children’s day camp in Chernihiv. A total of 43 children aged 6 to 10 participated in the interactive session “How Not to Get Lost”.
During the session, children learned what to do if they become lost or lose contact with an adult: how to stay calm, who to approach for help, why they should not go with strangers, and what personal information they should remember to help restore contact with their families more quickly.
The session was delivered through an interactive dialogue. Children actively asked questions, discussed different real-life situations and worked together with the specialist to find the right solutions. This format helps children better understand safety practices and build confidence in their own actions.
The event was supported by specialists from different programmes of the Chernihiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross. Through joint efforts, they help children gain knowledge and skills that can be crucial in unexpected situations.
