Ukrainian Red Cross first aid instructor killed during the attack on Odesa
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, two people were killed and seven others injured, including children, as a result of a Russian missile strike. Among those killed was a Ukrainian Red Cross first aid instructor. She was with children outdoors at the time of the strike. The children survived and are receiving the support they need. Tragically, they have been left orphaned.
The emergency response team of the Ukrainian Red Cross in the Odesa region worked alongside other emergency services at the sites affected by the overnight and morning attacks in Odesa.
Volunteers assessed the affected areas to identify people in need of assistance. They provided first aid to those injured and psychosocial first aid to people experiencing acute stress reactions.
