SYLA project partners conduct a monitoring visit in the Shyroke community, Zaporizhzhia region
Representatives of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO), together with SYLA project partners, visited the Shyroke community in the Zaporizhzhia region to learn about the project’s achievements and the work of the Community Safety Centre.
During the visit, participants discussed with local authorities the current risks and challenges faced by the community, as well as the emergency response mechanisms that have been developed. Particular attention was paid to cooperation between local authorities, emergency services and humanitarian organisations to strengthen community preparedness and resilience.
Such monitoring visits are an important part of project implementation, as they provide an opportunity to assess progress, share experiences and lessons learned among partners, and identify further steps to strengthen support for communities.
The SYLA project aims to strengthen the capacity of communities to respond to emergencies, develop local preparedness mechanisms and enhance community resilience. It is implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross in partnership with the Danish Red Cross, the German Red Cross, ACTED and IMPACT, with financial support from the European Union.
